Week 4: SOUND

For this in-class exercise, the objective was to become familiar with the H4n Zoom Kits and microphones, record dialogue and in various environments, and work with a section of our scripts to build a deeper connection to the material. I recorded in three different environments: a quiet space, outdoors, and a noisy space, each offering unique challenges and opportunities. To explore how different equipment handles these conditions, I used the Rode Wireless ME Dual Compact Wireless Microphone System, the H4n Zoom Kit, and my iPhone. Comparing the recordings allowed me to hear the differences in clarity, background noise, and overall sound quality, helping me better understand how environment and gear impact audio capture. This exercise was valuable in giving me hands-on experience with recording tools and improving my awareness of sound design in storytelling.
